I'm pretty sure you guys can tell what my favourite colour is.

Let's talk about the gym.

I have really been slacking and struggling to get back on a routine since December. I feel like I fell behind so much and took so many steps back. When I recently went back to the gym, I was criticizing myself for not being able to lift as heavy as I used to.

When I went to the DR, I only went to the gym once. I lost motivation to work out because the gym at the resort had very little to work with. I also just wanted to enjoy my time.

Of course, when I returned, I got hit by a wack ass flu or cold or idk, but it knocked me out for the holidays.

I wanna see everyone while I'm home, so I did lots of commuting back and forth the GTA and Niagara. Went on a ski trip. It's hard commuting to the gym, too. I recently went to a gym in Toronto, and it was terrible, and I lost motivation again.

Because of this sob story, I was dreading going back to the gym. Now that I'm back to work and staying in one place for a while, I was motivated to get back into it. I'm definitely trying to eat healthier and watch what I eat in moderation. Increasing that protein intake. Increasing the water intake. Improving my sleep at night. I don't have a car this contract so I walk to work and the gym. I'm taking it one step at a time. I'm reminding myself it's okay to take a few steps back, I can get back to where I used to be and move forward from there.

I feel good. I shit you not, but working out again has really boosted my mental health. I genuinely feel so much better and motivated now. I weighed myself today, I'm 59.3 kg. So I gained weight, but I've lost weight before and I know I can do it again. Don't be afraid of the scale. It can be a motivator.

Currently, I'm doing lighter weights right now, and my cardio is slower. I'm also taking this as the opportunity to play around and make some changes to my workouts too.

What I'm trying to say after all of this is that you can get back to where you used to be in fitness when you've fallen off track. Be gentle on yourself and take it one step at a time. You'd be surprised at how well you can bounce back.
